Tomorrow (September 5th), the new school year 2025-2026 officially begins. In the flood-stricken western region of Nghe An, which just experienced a severe natural disaster in July, the atmosphere leading up to the opening ceremony is one of urgency, determination, and a spirit of sharing.

In My Ly border commune, teachers at My Ly 2 Ethnic Boarding Primary School are busy cleaning, repairing desks and chairs, and rearranging classrooms under challenging conditions. Many remote school locations still have to hold classes in temporary shelters or utilize village cultural centers.

Teacher Bui Hoai Nam shared: "Even in the midday sun, we still try our best to set up tables and chairs so the children have a place to study." Meanwhile, teacher Vi Bua Ly personally prepares hot meals for the students, even though the cooking area is just a makeshift space under the Cultural House in Xang Tren village.

The joint efforts of the school, border guards, and the community are a great source of encouragement, helping students to attend classes regularly. Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Xuan Hoa of My Ly Border Guard Station said that officers and soldiers of the station are coordinating efforts and providing maximum support to help students return to school.

The sound of the school bell tomorrow will not only mark the start of a new school year, but also serve as proof of the unwavering will and spirit of teachers and students in the flood-affected areas.
