Flooded school in Nghe An prepares for opening day
Tomorrow (September 5), the new school year 2025 - 2026 officially begins. In the flood-hit western Nghe An region, which experienced a severe natural disaster in July, the atmosphere before the opening ceremony was urgent, determined and full of sharing.
In the border commune of My Ly, teachers at My Ly 2 Primary Boarding School are busy cleaning, repairing desks and chairs, and rearranging classrooms in poor conditions. Many remote schools still have to study in temporary huts or make use of the village cultural house.

Teacher Bui Hoai Nam shared: “Despite the hot noon, we still try to install tables and chairs for the students to have a place to study.” Teacher Vi Bua Ly personally prepared hot meals for the students, even though the kitchen was only a makeshift area under the Cultural House of Xang Tren village.
The cooperation of the school, border guards and the community is a great source of encouragement, helping students to attend class regularly. Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Xuan Hoa - My Ly Border Guard Station said that officers and soldiers of the station are coordinating to mobilize and provide maximum support for students to return to school.

The drumbeat for the opening ceremony tomorrow will not only mark the new school year, but also be a testament to the will and spirit of never giving up of teachers and students in the flood-hit areas.
