Authorities are searching for the suspect who used a knife to threaten and rob a woman.
This individual has a prior conviction for "Disrupting public order" and a prior offense for "Illegal use of narcotics."
After five days of intensive investigation, on October 25th, the Hoa Vang District Police (Da Nang) coordinated with the Criminal Police of Da Nang City Police to successfully track down and arrest the suspect who used a knife to threaten and rob women on the street in Hoa Vang District.
According to initial information, at approximately 2:20 PM on October 19th, Ms. Le Thi S. (born in 1979, residing in Hoa Son commune, Hoa Vang district) was driving a motorcycle with license plate 43F1-462.xx to a fruit stall near the market in Hoa Son commune.
At a fork in the road, Ms. S. was stopped by a young man on a motorbike who "asked to buy fruit," then suddenly grabbed her by the neck and held a knife to her side, demanding her handbag. Terrified, Ms. S. was forced to hand over her handbag (containing valuables including cash and a mobile phone), after which the assailant quickly fled the scene.
Upon receiving the crime report, detectives from the Hoa Vang District Police, in coordination with the Criminal Police Department of Da Nang City, immediately deployed their forces, investigating all movements and extracting camera footage from suspicious locations to track down even the smallest clues about the suspect.
By the morning of October 25th, the police had identified the perpetrator of the robbery as Trinh Hoang Lan (born in 2025, residing in Hoa Hiep Nam ward, Lien Chieu district, Da Nang city) and summoned him for questioning.
At the police station, Lan admitted to robbing Ms. Le Thi S. on October 19th. Notably, Lan has a prior conviction for "Disrupting public order" and a prior offense for "Illegal use of narcotics."
