Authorities quickly apprehended the suspect who smashed the display case and robbed the jewelry store.
On the evening of August 26th, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Staff Department announced that law enforcement officers had swiftly pursued and apprehended the suspect who smashed a glass display case and robbed a gold shop in Tan Son ward.
According to the report, at approximately 1:18 PM on August 26th, at Kim Huong Thuy gold shop (Nguyen Sy Sach Street, Tan Son Ward), a young man wearing a face mask and long-sleeved shirt arrived on a motorbike in front of the shop. The suspect suddenly used a concrete brick to smash the glass display case, shattering the glass, then quickly stole 10 18K gold bracelets and fled the scene.
Upon receiving the information, the Tan Son Ward Police immediately sealed off and secured the scene, coordinating with the Criminal Police Department and the Forensic Technical Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Police to conduct an investigation and collect traces, documents, and evidence. Simultaneously, the Criminal Police Department, in coordination with the ward police and other relevant units, urgently searched the area, traced the direction of movement, identified the characteristics of the suspect and vehicle, and identified suspicious locations.
Based on the documents, evidence collected, and the results of the coordinated implementation of professional measures, the police quickly identified the suspected individual as Truong Xuan Huy (born in 1982; residing in Cho Quan ward; currently residing in Tan Son ward).
At approximately 2:40 PM on the same day, police forces located and arrested Truong Xuan Huy on Ta Quang Buu Street, Chanh Hung Ward.
