Authorities are searching for the robber who murdered a mother and daughter in Binh Duong.

Based on the crime scene investigation, authorities concluded that the mother was found dying beside the body of her 8-month-old son in the rented room, having been murdered by robbers.

On the morning of January 11th, Major General Ho Sy Tien - Director of the Criminal Police Department (C45, Ministry of Public Security) - along with a task force, coordinated with the Binh Duong Provincial Police to examine the crime scene and investigate the case of Pham Thi Xuan Trang (30 years old, from Long An province) and her 8-month-old son who were murdered at a rented room in Tan Vinh Hiep commune, Tan Uyen district. The baby boy died, while the mother is currently receiving emergency medical treatment.

"Through investigation and evidence gathering, we have determined that this is a case of murder and robbery," said Colonel Tran Van Chinh, Deputy Director of the Binh Duong Provincial Police.

The row of rental houses where the victims lived consisted of four newly built houses, only a few months old, located in front of the villa. In front of them was a vast cemetery spanning thousands of square meters, completely deserted.

On the morning of January 10th, Ms. Trang was at home with her young son, while her husband was at work as a factory worker. The three neighboring rental houses were all closed. According to a source, a stranger approached Ms. Trang and asked her to deliver a stack of documents to the electrical appliance repair shop next door. However, Ms. Trang refused, and he subsequently left.

Ms. Trang then lay down in a hammock to rock her baby to sleep. A short while later, the young man returned, unexpectedly snatched the baby boy from his mother's arms, and stabbed Ms. Trang in the neck with a sharp object, rendering her unconscious.

"It's possible that while he was searching for valuables, the victim's child kept crying, so he was afraid of attracting attention and murdered the child," a police investigator commented.

The robber stole about 10 million VND, a tablet, and the wedding ring Trang was wearing before escaping. Later, the mother regained consciousness and saw her son lying in a pool of blood, so she managed to carry him outside to call for help.

Investigators are waiting for the victim to recover before taking her statement and creating a composite sketch of the suspect; they are also appealing to the public for any information related to the perpetrator to help solve the case.
