Searching for robber who murdered mother and child in Binh Duong

Through the examination of the scene, the investigation agency determined that the mother was gasping for breath next to the body of her 8-month-old son in the motel room after being murdered by a robber.

On the morning of January 11, Major General Ho Sy Tien - Director of the Criminal Police Department (C45, Ministry of Public Security) and a working group coordinated with Binh Duong Police to examine the scene and investigate the case of Ms. Pham Thi Xuan Trang (30 years old, from Long An) and her 8-month-old son who were murdered at a motel in Tan Vinh Hiep commune, Tan Uyen district. The baby boy died, and the mother is being treated.

"Through investigation and collection of evidence, we determined that this was a case of murder and robbery," said Colonel Tran Van Chinh, Deputy Director of Binh Duong Provincial Police.

The row of boarding houses where the victims lived had four units built just a few months ago, located in front of the villa. In front of it was a cemetery of thousands of square meters, deserted.

On the morning of January 10, Ms. Trang was at home with her young son, while her husband went to work as a factory worker. The three neighboring boarding houses were all closed. According to a source, a strange young man came to ask Ms. Trang to deliver a stack of documents to the refrigeration repair shop next door. However, Ms. Trang refused, and then he left.

Ms. Trang then lay down on the hammock to rock her baby to sleep. A moment later, the young man returned, suddenly rushed in, pulled the baby boy out of his mother's arms, and stabbed Ms. Trang in the neck with a sharp object, causing her to lose consciousness.

"Maybe while he was searching for property, the victim's child kept crying, so he was afraid that people around would notice, so he murdered the child," an investigator said.

The robber took about 10 million VND, a tablet and the wedding ring on Trang’s hand before escaping. Later, the mother woke up and saw her son lying in a pool of blood, so she tried to carry him outside to call for help.

The investigation agency is waiting for the victim to recover to take statements and sketch a portrait of the suspect; at the same time, it is calling on people to provide information related to the perpetrator to soon solve the case./.
