Authorities are tracing illegal immigrants linked to a SARS-CoV-2 positive case.
The health sector and relevant authorities in Ho Chi Minh City are searching for one person linked to a group of six illegal immigrants, four of whom tested positive for SARS-CoV-2.
On the afternoon of December 31st, Dr. Nguyen Tri Dung, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control (HCDC), stated that the city is searching for one person who illegally entered the country along with a group of six others, including four individuals.patients with Covid-19, including patients 1440, 1451, 1452, and 1453.
Accordingly, this person, along with two others, entered the country illegally, joining a group of six people returning from Myanmar. However, after crossing the border into An Giang, these two individuals did not travel with the other six people but instead found their own means of transportation.
Of these, one person who returned to Ca Mau was detected on December 30th and is currently in quarantine, while two others traveled to Ho Chi Minh City.

Initial investigations indicate the woman was transported to Tan Phu District. The city is currently tracing, verifying, and searching for this woman.
The Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control (HCDC) also reported that the city recently discovered five cases of illegal entry from China in Thu Duc district. All five individuals tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 in their first test.
The HCDC also urged those who entered the country illegally to bravely declare their health status for monitoring and testing, for the sake of public health. Failure to declare health status and not to undergo quarantine as required could pose a significant risk to the community if they are infected with Covid-19.
