Man prosecuted for kidnapping two girls to film pornographic videos.
Enticed by her foreign lover, Vi kidnapped two young girls on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street and took them to her apartment in Saigon Pearl condominium, where she filmed 12 pornographic videos and sent them to her lover.
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Procuracy has just completed the indictment against Pham Huynh Nhat Vi (21 years old, residing in Ward 22, Binh Thanh District) for the crimes of "Using a person under 16 years old for pornographic purposes" and "Kidnapping a person under 16 years old".
According toprosecuteThrough a social media dating app, in October 2023, Vi met and began a romantic relationship with a foreign man named Richard (whose background is currently unknown). Afterward, the two met several times, and Richard sent Vi sex videos.
In early December 2023, Richard left Vietnam. Afterward, Richard repeatedly messaged Vi, asking her to find and lure girls aged 6-12 to film pornographic videos. He instructed Vi to send the videos to Richard after filming them. In return, he promised Vi money and said he would return to Vietnam to marry her.
Around March 2024, Richard sent Vi $500 and told her to find young girls, after which he would rent an apartment for her to film pornographic videos.
On the evening of April 3rd, Vi went to Nguyen Hue pedestrian street to look for and lure young girls. There, Vi saw two girls, NKTM (7 years old) and LHTL (3 years old), wandering around selling candy without their mother by their side.
Vi approached and chatted with the two girls, giving them 10,000 dong each, and luring them with promises of fried chicken and ice cream. Vi took pictures of the two girls and sent them to Richard, who then chose M. to commit the act. Because the two girls were together, Vi decided to lure both of them.
Vi walked with the two children through many streets from District 1 to District 8, texting Richard along the way to discuss accommodation. After a while, Richard texted to say he had rented an apartment in the Saigon Pearl apartment building (Ward 22, Binh Thanh District).
Richard rented this apartment through a rental app. Then Richard showed Vi how to use the apartment.
Afterward, Vi took a ride-hailing taxi to bring the two children back to her rented apartment in the Saigon Pearl condominium.
During the investigation, Vi admitted to the act, and the police had evidence confirming that, between the evening of April 3rd and April 7th, Vi filmed 12 pornographic clips and sent them to Richard.
On April 8th, the Criminal Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City, in coordination with the police of District 1 and Binh Thanh District, raided the apartment, successfully rescued the two children, and brought Vi in for questioning.
As reported, at 8 PM on April 3rd, Ms. Nguyen Thi C. (27 years old, residing in District 7) and her four children were standing in area number 1, Dong Khoi Street, selling candy. Afterwards, she went to meet an acquaintance about 100 meters away.
Two girls, NKTM and LHTL, went out to sell candy together; the 10-year-old girl was taking care of her 9-month-old sister. Thirty minutes later, Ms. C. panicked because she couldn't find M. and L. She searched everywhere but couldn't find them. Afterward, Ms. C. reported the incident to the authorities.
