German media reports: "Poland threatens Russia with a move to split Europe."
An article in the German newspaper Neues Deutschland accused Poland of dividing Europe.
Accordingly, Warsaw's actions within NATO aimed at "threatening" Russia have harmed the unity of the European community.
The article also argues that Poland plays the role of a "model member" of NATO: for several years, the government has tried to keep military spending at 2% of GDP, and all parties in the country support increasing this budget target.
"The goal of building the weapons as planned is simple, as it is not precise: to threaten the enemy - in this case, the Russian Federation," InoTV news portal quoted Neues Deutschland.
At the same time, the author notes that NATO's intention to increase military spending, deploy US military bases in Poland, and admit new members only increases tensions in Europe and divides the continent into factions.
Previously, Warsaw proposed that the United States station a US armored division in Poland on a permanent basis, with Poland bearing the costs. This proposal was made outside the framework of bilateral NATO cooperation.
