Accordingly, the Decree stipulates that both schools and independent classes must regularly exchange information with students' families to ensure the safety of life, dignity, honor and privacy of students.
This is also considered one of the conditions for building a safe and friendly educational environment - where learners are respected, treated fairly, and democracy is promoted.
Schools must also set up information channels such as suggestion boxes and hotlines to receive and process student information and ensure confidentiality for those providing information.
In particular, the Decree also clearly stipulates measures to prevent school violence.
In addition to propaganda and dissemination to raise awareness about the dangers and consequences of school violence, it is necessary to equip students with skills on preventing and combating school violence and child violence in the online environment, from students to managers, teachers, staff of educational institutions and students' families.
When school violence occurs, schools need to immediately take measures to assist, provide medical care, and provide counseling to students who are victims of violence, and promptly notify the students' families to coordinate handling.
In case the incident is beyond the capacity of the educational institution to handle, promptly notify the police, local authorities and relevant agencies to coordinate handling in accordance with the provisions of law.
The Decree will officially take effect from September 5, 2017.
