Death sentence for man who murdered 18-year-old girl for not being allowed to be with him.

On September 25th, the Da Nang City People's Court held a mobile trial at the Hoa Nhon Commune People's Committee (Hoa Vang District) to hear the first-instance case against defendant Vo Thanh Tan (36 years old) for murder, and defendants Vo Van Tuan (44 years old) and Tran Nhut (20 years old) for concealing a crime.

The court sentenced defendant Tan to death. Defendants Tuan and Nhut were each sentenced to 15 months of suspended imprisonment.

According to the indictment, Tan had unrequited feelings for female student Dang Thi Kim N. (18 years old, residing in Phuoc Thuan village, Hoa Nhon commune) but was rejected by N. because they were related; N. called Tan "uncle."

Knowing about the situation, N.'s family also forbade the relationship, so Tan became resentful and conceived the idea of ​​killing her.

After that, Tan repeatedly tried to stop N.'s car in the middle of the road with a knife, but failed to achieve his goal. N. also reported the incident to the Hoa Nhon Commune Police.

On the night of June 17th, Tan borrowed a motorbike and, carrying a knife, waited in front of N.'s house. Seeing N. and her two younger sisters leave the house and go to an ice cream shop, he followed them. Afterward, when the three sisters returned home, Tan followed them and hid in front of their house.

Around 10 PM, Tan saw N. coming out of the gate, so he rushed towards him and stabbed him repeatedly in the chest and abdomen.

N. ran into the house but found no one there, so he ran back out onto the street shouting for help. Tan then stabbed him multiple times in the neck, killing him instantly.

After committing the crime, Tan immediately fled to the mountains and called Tuan to inquire about the victim's condition. Tuan informed him that N. was dead, and then even gave Tan 1 million VND to help him escape.

During his escape, Tan received an additional 150,000 dong from Nhut before taking a bus south. On June 27th, Tan was arrested upon getting off the bus in Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan Province.
