After the keywords "debate", "sniff" and "Trump sniff" are the words most followed and shared by Twitter users in the US today, according to CNN.

"Why does he keep sniffling? Does he have Parkinson's? Or pneumonia? Brain damage?" Australian writer Caroline Overington wrote on Twitter, according to AP.

"Sniff sniff... is Trump living in the 80s? Why does he keep sniffling during debate prep?" Joy Karley, a master's in biomechanics and gymnastics coach, asked on Twitter.

Memes of Mr. Trump holding a tissue and blowing his nose also flooded Twitter. Some people think that Mr. Trump is sniffling with pneumonia, like Mrs. Clinton a few weeks ago, when she attended the 9/11 memorial service in New York.

Others have suggested he may have allergies. Earlier this month, on “Dr. Oz,” Trump said he had had fevers in the spring and fall, but that was not unusual because he was getting older.

One person theorized that Mr. Trump might have used a neti pot right before the debate, while others suggested he might have rinsed his nose to clear it up.
