'Pimp' brokers prostitution services for tens of thousands of USD.
Working as a manager for several Vietnamese artists and representing and managing a few Korean artists when they were active in Vietnam, Le Hoang Long used this position to broker prostitution deals between famous figures in the showbiz industry and wealthy clients for prices reaching tens of thousands of USD.
On the morning of August 16th, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Court sentenced Le Hoang Long (born in 1991, residing in Hai Phong) to 5 years and 6 months in prison for the crime of "Prostitution broker"
The indictment states that on the night of August 25, 2022, a task force from the Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security, in coordination with the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order of the Ministry of Public Security and the Ben Nghe Ward Police, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, inspected rooms 2308 and 2309 of The Reverie Saigon Hotel (Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) and discovered two couples, a male and a female, in room 2308: TTMD (born in 1995) and PBK, and TTTT (born in 2000) and NHH in room 2309, engaging in prostitution.
Through a swift investigation, the police determined that Le Hoang Long was the pimp who brokered prostitution deals between two well-known Vietnamese showbiz beauties, TH and TT, and two clients. The task force then arrested Le Hoang Long on charges of brokering prostitution.
At the investigative agency, Le Hoang Long confessed that he, K., and H. knew each other through social media. Due to their need for "entertainment," K. and H. contacted Long to find someone to buy sex from. The two clients requested that the prostitute be a celebrity, actress, or model. Long agreed and contacted MD and TT. These two women agreed.
Subsequently, Long contacted K. and H. and agreed on the price for the "escort services" provided by MD and TT to clients. Long quoted a price of 15,000 USD per person per night (equivalent to 360 million VND). Of this amount, Long paid the two prostitutes 7,500 USD each. After deducting expenses for food, accommodation, etc., Long kept the remaining amount. After agreeing on the price, K. and H. transferred 100 million VND each to Long's account as a deposit.
Long went to The Reverie Saigon Hotel to rent rooms for his clients. While the two couples were "having fun," Long waited outside and was caught red-handed by the task force during a raid.
In court, Long admitted to all his actions and expressed remorse and regret for what he had done, while also hoping that the judges would consider mitigating his sentence.
