Illegal gold mining and blasting operations are taking place from Thai Nguyen to Nghe An.

(Baonghean.vn) - On January 18-19, 2016, the police of Huu Khuong commune conducted inspections and raids on individuals illegally mining gold in the Khe Vai hill area, located in Xan village, Huu Khuong commune, Tuong Duong district. This is one of the hotspots where illegal gold miners frequently operate.

The police team from Huu Khuong commune and the three arrested suspects (the three people in the middle) along with all the evidence seized at the scene.

Based on information from the public, at 9:30 PM on January 19th, a task force from Huu Khuong Commune Police ambushed and apprehended three individuals: Nguyen The Vinh (1979), from Do Luong District, Nghe An Province; Dang Phuc Tai (1994) and Trieu Phuc Luu (1982), both residing in Dong Hy District, Thai Nguyen Province, for illegally using explosives to mine gold. The seized evidence included 17.6 kg of industrial explosives (in bar form), 34 meters of slow-burning fuse (black), and 75 industrial detonators.

Due to the complex terrain, high mountains, narrow roads, and steep slopes, it wasn't until 2:45 AM on January 20th that the Huu Khuong Commune Police escorted the suspects to the Commune People's Committee, completed the paperwork, and handed them over to the District Police for handling according to their jurisdiction.

The People's Committee of Huu Khuong commune promptly congratulated and rewarded the soldiers participating in the task force.
