Compared to last year, the sunflowers bloomed later this year. However, from December 29, 2017 to January 1, 2018, a large number of locals and tourists flocked to visit the sunflower fields in Nghia Dan district.

Instant photo services and photo prop rentals have also proliferated. In particular, makeshift motorbike and car parking services along the Ho Chi Minh Highway are arbitrarily raising prices. Some parking spots are charging exorbitant rates of 30,000 to 50,000 VND per car, causing concern among tourists.

Because the section of Ho Chi Minh Highway passing through the sunflower field lacks sidewalks, many people take to the road to compete, wave, and solicit parking, services, and goods, resulting in a chaotic and disorderly traffic situation.

Due to the recent drizzle, the sunflower fields are muddy and slippery, so rental services for boots and umbrellas are priced from 10,000 to 20,000 VND per use.

Many tourists have to buy plastic bags to put in their shoes and sandals to protect them from mud. Therefore, local vendors also sell plastic bags for 1,000 to 2,000 VND per bag.
