The New Rice Festival is a cultural activity passed down and promoted by the Thai people in Bong village, Thanh Binh Tho commune, Nghe An province, contributing to the preservation of traditional identity and creating momentum for the development of all aspects of life.

On June 19th (the 5th day of the 5th lunar month), the Thai ethnic people in Bong village, Thanh Binh Tho commune, held a festival celebrating the new rice harvest. The New Rice Festival is celebrated by the people of Bong village at the shrine at the beginning of the village. Here, the six clans of the Thai people residing in the village (including the Vi, Luong, Lo, Ha, Ngan, and Lu clans) take turns offering gifts to Po Pha and other deities to give thanks and pray for favorable weather, a bountiful harvest, and good health for everyone...
