Polish general predicts: Winter is working in Russia's favor.

The transition to winter presents challenges for both Russia and Ukraine.
A winter offensive is a major problem for the Ukrainian army. The thicker the ice cover on the ground, the greater the likelihood of a Russian attack. This is what experts predict will happen in the coming weeks.
Former Polish ground forces commander, General Waldemar Skrzypczak, in an interview with the Wirtualna Polska news portal, emphasized that both sides are currently preparing for combat conditions in winter.
"For months now, Russia hasn't launched an attack. Now they are preparing advantageous positions to attack Ukraine's defenses," said General Waldemar Skrzypczak.
Waldemar Skrzypczak believes that Ukraine should shift to strategic defense, as its armed forces are not capable of responding effectively. According to Skrzypczak, approximately 1,000 Ukrainian soldiers are killed on the front lines every day. Ukrainian media reports on Russian losses but fails to mention their own.
General Skrzypczak predicted that within a few weeks, when weather conditions stabilize, the snowstorm will end, the ground will be covered in ice, and the Russian army will attack. "I think this will happen in the first half of December. Russia has already assembled forces for this attack," the Polish general said.
Sharing the same view, Colonel Maciej Matysiak, former Deputy Director of the Polish Military Counterintelligence Agency, stated: "If everything around is wet, this is a problem for both sides. But when the ground freezes, using equipment becomes easier. Compared to Russia, Ukraine has fewer resources and they are constantly running out. Kyiv needs ammunition and funding. They may not have enough strength and means to retaliate. And the Russian army will advance."
Colonel Matysiak also drew attention to another aspect. He argued that winter is advantageous for Russia, as they can attack Ukraine's critical energy infrastructure. In this way, Moscow is putting pressure on Ukrainian society.
