Polish General Predicts: Winter is Favoring Russia
(Baonghean.vn) - Winter has begun in Ukraine. Polish General Waldemar Skrzypczak predicts that Russia will launch an attack as planned in mid-December.

As the weather turns to winter, it poses challenges for both Russia and Ukraine.
The winter offensive is a big problem for the Ukrainian military. The longer the ground is covered in a thick layer of ice, the more likely it is that Russia will attack, which experts predict will happen in the next few weeks.
Former Commander of the Polish Ground Forces, General Waldemar Skrzypczak, in an interview with the Wirtualna Polska portal, stressed that both sides are currently preparing for combat operations in winter conditions.
“Russia has not launched an attack for several months. Now they are preparing favorable positions for themselves to attack the Ukrainian defenses,” said General Waldemar Skrzypczak.
Waldemar Skrzypczak believes that Ukraine should switch to a strategic defensive operation, as its armed forces are not capable of responding. According to Waldemar Skrzypczak, about 1,000 Ukrainian soldiers are killed on the front line every day. Ukrainian media talk about Russian losses, but do not mention their own.
General Skrzypczak predicted that in a few weeks, when the weather conditions will stabilize, the snowstorm will end, the ground will be covered with ice and the Russian army will attack. "I think this will happen in the first half of December. Russia has gathered its forces for this attack," the Polish general said.
Sharing the same view, Colonel, former Deputy Director of the Polish Military Counterintelligence Service Maciej Matysiak commented: "If everything around is wet, this is a problem for both sides. But when the ground freezes, the use of equipment will become easier. Compared to Russia, Ukraine has fewer resources and they are constantly running out. Kiev needs ammunition and funding. They may not have enough strength and means to respond. And the Russian army will move forward."
Colonel Matysiak also noted another aspect. He said that winter is beneficial for Russia, because they can attack Ukraine's important energy infrastructure. In this way, Moscow is putting pressure on Ukrainian society./.
