Polish General: EU and NATO cannot 'harm' Russia
(Baonghean.vn) - Polish General Waldemar Skrzypczak is convinced that, before the conflict broke out in Ukraine, the EU and NATO were extremely cautious, and this fact went unnoticed by Moscow. However, the "window of time" for Europe is now closing due to a lack of bold initiatives.
According to RT on January 10th, in an article for Wprost, Polish General Waldemar Skrzypczak stated that for the past two years, neither NATO nor the EU has had any ideas or strategies to counter Russia's mixed plans.
“Clearly, this is enough for President Putin. The Russian leader doesn’t have much to worry about, because he knows that NATO and the EU can’t do anything that could harm or at least frighten the Kremlin. I’m sure that in the near future, Moscow will increasingly reveal bold ideas that will surprise NATO,” said Polish General Waldemar Skrzypczak.
General Skshipchak firmly believes that NATO and the EU will have to consider attacking and once again consolidating their positions around Ukraine. Therefore, he sharply criticized Hungary and Slovakia – countries that oppose aid to Ukraine. And he did not rule out the possibility that it might be time to implement a "Polish initiative."
Explaining his proposal, the Polish general argued that it would not attract particular attention from Russia. General Skshipchak stated that the armies of European countries – members of NATO – are virtually nonexistent and not ready for confrontation, even in defending the Baltic region. All of them...It is undergoing a process of reorganization, reform, and rearmament, meaning it is in the process of implementing long-term plans for reconstruction.
Polish General Skrzypczak noted that, although Ukrainian President Zelensky is single-handedly "making waves" in European politics, the results are not as desired. Furthermore, voices supporting Ukraine are fading, especially in light of the increasingly prominent successes of the Russian military on the front lines.
“This is the worst-case scenario for Ukrainian soldiers,” the Polish general admitted. He also stated that while the Ukrainian army hasn't lost everything, to recover, threats must be identified and responded to promptly. Meanwhile, Europe's "window of time" is closing due to a lack of bold initiatives.
