According to TASS, the Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of Military-Political Affairs of the Russian Armed Forces, Commander of the Akhmat Special Forces, Major General Apty Alaudinov, stated that the reserve forces that the Ukrainian army used to attempt an attack on the border with the Kursk region were their last remaining force.

"I think that in the coming days we will destroy these resources, the last reserves that the enemy has accumulated," said Major General Alaudinov.

According to General Alaudinov, by eliminating this last remaining Ukrainian force, Russia will reach its goal and complete its special military operation.

Earlier, on August 6th, in a video posted on social media, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky unexpectedly announced that Ukraine plans to prepare the groundwork for achieving a just peace with Russia "as early as 2024".

Zelensky declared: "Our constant goal is to lay the groundwork for a just end to the war this year."

Recently, President Zelensky has given numerous signals that he wants to end the conflict “as soon as possible,” and is ready to negotiate with Moscow's delegation, regardless of who is in charge of Russia. This contradicts the decree he himself signed in the fall of 2022, which prohibited all negotiations with Russia.

And currently, this decree has not been lifted.
