Argentina has a new coach.
Coach Edgardo Bauza will leave Sao Paulo FC (Brazil) after eight months to return to his homeland and coach the national team.
The Argentine Football Association has not confirmed it, but Sao Paulo has just confirmed that coach Bauza will resign from the club to return to coach the national team.
"On August 1st, Bauza accepted the offer to coach the national team from the Argentine Football Association. With this result, the coach will leave Sao Paulo after eight months of crucial rebuilding," the Sao Paulo announcement stated.

Bauza, 58, is a highly successful coach in South America. He has coached in Peru, Ecuador, and Argentina, winning titles in all three countries. With Sporting Cristal (Peru), Bauza won a national championship in 2005. His success increased when he moved to LDU Quito (Ecuador): two national championships plus the Copa Libertadores in 2008. Upon returning to Argentina to coach San Lorenzo, Bauza also achieved fame with another Copa Libertadores title in 2014.
Since December 2015, Bauza has managed Sao Paulo (Brazil). This club recently reached the semi-finals of the 2016 Copa Libertadores.
Former Argentina national team coach Gerardo Martino recently resigned following the team's defeat at the 2016 Copa America. This also marked Martino's second consecutive defeat in a Copa America final: both losses to Chile in penalty shootouts.
