USD exchange rate today, November 20, 2024: The US dollar continued to fall by 0.08%, to 106.19. Meanwhile, the euro fell by 0.12%, to 1.0586 USD.
Today's USD exchange rate worldwide
In the US market, the US Dollar Index (DXY) – which measures the fluctuations of the USD against six major currencies (EUR, JPY, GBP, CAD, SEK, CHF) – fell 0.08% to 106.19. After reaching 106.63 at the beginning of the trading session, the DXY index continued to cool down, while the EUR fell 0.12% to 1.0586 USD.
The Japanese yen remained stable at 154.68 yen/USD, despite earlier gaining 0.91% against the USD. Recently, the yen also rose 0.11% to 163.74 yen/EUR, after touching a six-week high of 161.50 yen/EUR. Since the beginning of October, the USD has appreciated 9% against the Japanese yen, reaching 156.74 – its highest level since July. This raises the possibility that Japan will intervene to support its currency.
Against the Swiss franc, the US dollar edged higher by 0.02%, to 0.883, after earlier falling 0.32% in the trading session.
In other news, the Russian ruble fell 0.83% against the US dollar, to 100.571. This marks the first time the official ruble exchange rate has fallen below 100 against the US dollar since October 2023.

On the domestic market, at the beginning of the trading session on November 20, the State Bank of Vietnam announced that the central exchange rate of the Vietnamese Dong against the US Dollar increased by 5 dong, currently at 24,293 dong.
* The reference exchange rate at the State Bank of Vietnam's exchange floor remains unchanged, currently at: 23,400 VND - 25,450 VND.
