USD exchange rate today, October 23, 2025: Maintaining its upward trend.
USD exchange rate today, October 23, 2025: The US dollar rose for the fourth consecutive session, supported by the weakening of other major currencies.
The international USD exchange rate maintains its strength, and the Dollar Index continues to rise.
On the global market, the USD exchange rate continues its steady upward trend. The Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the strength of the greenback against six major currencies (EUR, JPY, GBP, CAD, SEK, CHF), reached 99.07 points, up 0.1% from the previous session.
According to Reuters, the US dollar rose for the fourth consecutive session, supported by the weakening of other major currencies. The British pound fell sharply after the UK announced that its September inflation rate was only 3.8%, lower than expected. This further benefited the USD exchange rate as investors increased their holdings of the greenback as a safe-haven asset.

In Japan, the yen edged slightly higher against the US dollar after hitting a week earlier. The new government of Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi is reportedly preparing a large-scale economic stimulus package, estimated at over 13.9 trillion yen (approximately $92 billion), to support citizens amid rising prices.
Meanwhile, the British pound fell 0.5% against the US dollar, to $1.3307, its lowest level in over a week. At the same time, the pound also fell 0.43% against the euro, to 87.04 pence/euro.
Investors predict that the likelihood of the Bank of England (BoE) cutting interest rates in December has increased to 75%, compared to 46% before the release of inflation data.
In Asian markets, the USD fell 0.1% to 151.76 yen/USD. However, the greenback maintained its strong position as the Japanese yen depreciated by 2.5% since the beginning of the month, its sharpest decline since July.
Analysts believe that the expansionary fiscal policy that the Japanese government plans to implement could continue to put pressure on the yen, thereby supporting the USD exchange rate to maintain a positive trend in the short term.
The domestic USD exchange rate decreased slightly at most commercial banks.
