Japanese Yen exchange rate today, April 15, 2025: The Japanese Yen exchange rate in the domestic market recorded a record high increase.

On the morning of April 15, 2025, the Japanese Yen exchange rate in the domestic market recorded a record high increase. At commercial banks, the listed rates were all higher than in previous days.

Vietcombank is currently trading JPY at 174.45 VND/JPY for buying and 185.54 VND/JPY for selling.

BIDV and VietinBank recorded very similar selling rates, at 185.97 VND and 185.94 VND/JPY respectively.

On the international market, the USD/JPY pair is showing clear signs of a reversal after holding firm at the 142.00 support level for several recent sessions. After a slight decline to around 142.24 during the Asian and European sessions, the exchange rate has surged again and is now above 144.00. This development is mainly due to capital flowing back into the USD amidst a slight recovery in the US bond market.

Although there is usually a positive correlation between US bond yields and the USD/JPY exchange rate, the current market reflects uncertainty regarding US policy, indicating that investor sentiment remains very cautious.

The Japanese yen is projected to remain stable and potentially recover in the medium term, as the Bank of Japan (BoJ) may continue to raise interest rates. Rising base wages at many Japanese companies are also contributing to strengthening the yen's value.

Furthermore, the interest rate spread between the Fed and the BoJ is narrowing, making arbitrage strategies less attractive. If this trend continues, the Japanese Yen will not only hold its ground but may even appreciate.

Experts believe that, with its large economy, political stability, and highly liquid financial markets, the Japanese Yen remains a safe haven preferred by many international investors.
