The urbanization rate in Nghe An has reached 30%.

On the morning of February 6th, the Nghe An Department of Construction held a conference to implement its tasks for 2018. Attending the conference were Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with leaders from various departments at the district and city levels.

In 2017, the value of production in the construction industry reached VND 30,572 billion, an increase of more than 10% compared to the same period.

The urbanization rate in 2017 was estimated at over 30%, with 100% coverage of existing urban master plans. For type 4 cities, the rate reached 86%, and for type 5 cities, it reached 75%. The rate of waste collection and treatment in urban areas reached approximately 92%.

Over the past year, the Department of Construction has effectively managed architecture, construction planning, and urban development; it processed 1,182 dossiers, appraisal documents, projects, and plans. Construction investment management has been reformed, with cost estimates being reviewed and many inappropriate estimates reduced. The capacity of consulting and design survey organizations has been strictly checked. Emphasis has been placed on construction management and land compensation, preventing losses in basic construction investment.

In 2018, the Department of Construction identified its key tasks as: Improving the quality of advice provided to the Provincial People's Committee in the field of construction; enhancing the quality of appraisal of detailed construction planning projects and investment projects; controlling and managing the quality of construction projects in the province; strengthening inspection and supervision, organizing capacity checks of investors and project management boards towards professionalization; and adjusting the planning for managing solid household waste in the province...

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, highly appreciated the achievements of the Department of Construction; and expressed his hope that in 2018, the Construction sector would continue to closely monitor and provide timely advice on construction matters to the Provincial People's Committee, in accordance with the province's conditions. He also urged the department to direct and expedite key planning projects in the province, improving the quality of planning with a new vision. Specifically, he emphasized urban planning and the planning of apartment complexes to avoid overloading urban areas.

Coordinate with localities to effectively manage the real estate market and technical infrastructure, and reorganize project management boards at the district level. At the conference, Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, presented the Nghe An Department of Construction with the Ministry of Construction's Emulation Flag for outstanding achievements in 2017. The Department of Construction's management also awarded prizes to 19 collectives and 59 individuals for their outstanding achievements and advanced labor performance.
