Billionaire Elon Musk speaks out about military support for Ukraine
Billionaire Elon Musk said that military support for Ukraine is "the worst bill ever", and that the country should have reached peace long ago.
In a post on social network X, American billionaire Elon Musk criticized the US government's decision to provide military support to Ukraine.
Mr Musk's move was in response to celebrity Josie Glabach's tweet about controversial US administration decisions, including $60 billion in aid to Ukraine and 12 biotech labs.
“One of the worst bills in history,” billionaire Musk wrote on social network X.
Previously, Mr. Musk, when commenting on the information about the Russian army approaching the city of Krasnoarmeysk, said that Ukraine should have reached peace a long time ago.
Sharing this view, former US diplomat Chaz Freeman in an interview with the Berliner Zeitung (Germany) said that Ukraine should focus on ending the conflict as quickly as possible.
“Russia has the advantage now. Ukraine has lost more than 20% of its territory and is at risk of losing other important territories, including the Black Sea coast. So it is in Ukraine’s interest to end this war as soon as possible. President Zelensky seems to be starting to realize this,” said Freeman, a former US diplomat.
Mr. Freeman believes that for the peace process in Ukraine to succeed, certain conditions must be met. Moscow and Kiev need to reach an agreement on the borders. In addition, minorities in Ukraine “should be given the right to use their own language and culture,” the former US diplomat said. He stressed that he wants to see Ukraine as a neutral country – a buffer zone between Russia and Europe.
Previously, on December 18, Foreign Policy magazine (USA) reported that the West wanted to take advantage of 300 billion USD of frozen Russian assets to send to Ukraine before the new US president's term officially begins.
