National U15: 'Card removal' and its consequences
(Baonghean.vn) - The image of U15 SLNA captain Phan Ba Quyen clapping his hands in celebration and smiling when he received his first red card in the match against U15 HAGL and the match against U15 Viettel left the audience with many thoughts..
Although only receiving the Bronze Medal, in our opinion, the level of U15 SLNA has gotten closer to PVF and Viettel. However, according to observations of the National U15 Finals - Thai Son Bac Cup 2017, to regain its past reputation, SLNA still has a lot of work to do, including the coaching staff and players.
Card Eraser
Not only in Vietnam football field, foreign professional players are still cheeky to "wash cards". Coaches and players have the right to calculate personally, rest unnecessary matches to go long-term. But the image of U15 SLNA captain Phan Ba Quyen clapping and smiling after "getting a card" on Tay Ninh field is unnecessary, if not offensive.

According to coach Quang Truong's calculation, receiving this red card would allow Ba Quyen to rest for the match against Tay Ninh and be in good shape to enter the semi-finals against Viettel. However, with the U15 age group, this calculation by SLNA's coaching staff was wrong as they did not fully anticipate the psychology of the young players.
Losing their excitement and facing a tough opponent, SLNA’s defense under Ba Quyen’s command played like “chickens with their hair caught”. They continuously let wingers Ngoc Tu and Van Khang roam and stir things up. There was a situation where national team player Van Khang dribbled past 2 or 3 SLNA U15 players. Center back Van Ba even panicked and cleared the ball when no one was fighting for it.
The confusion and having to deliberately play rough to block the attacks of Thanh Trung, Ba Duong, Trung Dao… caused the SLNA defense to continuously receive many yellow cards. SLNA U15 captain Phan Ba Quyen himself also received a red card and was likely to lose his name in the tournament's best team.
Although he is an aggressive, determined player with a good ability to read the game, after 3 matches, Ba Quyen received 2 red cards, which is a pity. It cannot be said that coach Quang Truong and the U15 SLNA coaching staff are innocent in calculating the falling point of this player number 4.
Solid rock
After conceding 2 goals, the U15 SLNA players rose up to find a goal with great effort, a remarkable fighting spirit. But it must be said that the young SLNA players played too tough, Quang Thuan, Ba Quyen, Van Cuong, Van Ba… received yellow cards one after another.
In many situations, SLNA players kicked the ball extremely dangerously, not much different from their senior Que Ngoc Hai. Even players with good individual skills like Xuan Tien and Van Thong also fought for the ball in a way that "destroyed" the opponent, causing many reporters watching the match on screen to shake their heads in dismay.

Perhaps many U15 SLNA players on the field were still angry about the loss to Viettel in the U13 National Final last year in Thai Binh, and now they lost again, so they lost their temper. But football is not a stage, they also have the duty to serve the audience. The U15 SLNA coaching staff did not take measures to control their hot heads, so they lost 0-2, but the players focused more on playing tough than organizing attacks.
Obviously, on the coaching bench, Viettel coach Minh Dung was sharp in coming up with a plan to stop Quang Thuan and Xuan Tien of SLNA, but coach Quang Truong left a very bad "mark" in the final round.
Perhaps, when we sit down together calmly, Coach Ngo Quang Truong and his team will analyze and dissect this defeat more. Sometimes we have to accept defeat to gain victory in the future!
