Malaysia U22 wins bronze medal at SEA Games 33 after a 20-year wait.
Defeating the Philippines U22 team 2-1 in a dramatic match, the Malaysia U22 team won the SEA Games bronze medal for the first time in two decades, bringing great pride to the country's football.
The Malaysian U22 team officially won the bronze medal in men's football at the 33rd SEA Games after defeating the Philippines U22 team 2-1. This is the first medal for Malaysian men's football at this tournament in 20 years, since the 2005 SEA Games in Bacolod, Philippines.
This victory is seen as a significant morale boost for Malaysia's young football generation, especially after the team went through a challenging preparation process leading up to the tournament.

A dramatic match and an impressive redemption.
At the Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok, the Malaysian U22 team started the match with great determination. In the 28th minute, Danish Hakimi Sahaludin opened the scoring for the "Malaysian Tigers," giving the home team an early advantage.
However, the drama of the match intensified when Haqimi Azim Rosli accidentally scored an own goal in the 36th minute, bringing the game back to a tie. Nevertheless, Rosli himself became the hero by scoring the winning goal in the 43rd minute, securing a 2-1 victory and completing an emotional redemption.
A source of pride from the coaching staff.
Following the success of the U22 team, the head coach of the Malaysian national team, Peter Cklamovski, could not hide his pride. On his personal page, the Australian coach shared: "I am extremely proud of you all. Congratulations to everyone!"
He also praised coach Nafuzi Zain, who led the U22 team, along with the entire coaching staff and players: "I am very proud of coach Nafuzi, his assistants, and the players. A great result, congratulations."

According to Malaysian media, this bronze medal holds special significance as the U22 team successfully "avenged" their defeat against the U22 Philippines, the same team that beat them at the Southeast Asian U23 Championship earlier this year.
The achievements at the 33rd SEA Games are expected to be a solid stepping stone, further motivating the younger generation of Malaysian players to aim for bigger goals in the future.
