At the meeting, VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan once again praised the fighting spirit, efforts, and outstanding achievements of the players at the SEA Games 33, while emphasizing that the entire team needs to quickly put aside the emotions of the recent Games to focus entirely on the new task. VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan noted that the upcoming U23 Asian Championship will be much more challenging, bringing together top U23 teams from across the continent, thus requiring serious preparation, determination, and high discipline. The biggest challenge for the Vietnam U23 team is being drawn into what is considered a "group of death" with the presence of Saudi Arabia U23, Jordan U23, and Kyrgyzstan U23. Historically, teams from the West Asian region have always been considered "nemesis" of Vietnamese football due to their superior physique, strength, and individual technique. Photo: Hai Hoang

Having to face three teams with a physically demanding playing style right from the group stage requires coach Kim Sang Sik's team to be thoroughly prepared physically to avoid running out of steam in one-on-one challenges. Photo: Hai Hoang

To suit the continental stage, coach Kim Sang-sik is building a more pragmatic and direct playing style for the Vietnam U23 team. Instead of elaborate ball control, he prioritizes speed, mobility, and simple yet effective attacking moves. Photo: Hai Hoang
