This blacklist, previously compiled by the "Big Four Arabs," includes 59 individuals and 12 organizations, among them the spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, Yousef al-Qaradawi, and several people working in Qatari charities.
Based on nationality, this expanded list includes three terrorist organizations based in Yemen and six in Libya; three Kuwaitis, three Yemenis, and two Libyans.
The Bahraini government has announced it will arrest anyone who expresses support for Qatar. A statement from the Bahraini Ministry of Interior clarified that supporting the Qatari government or opposing sanctions against Qatar is considered a criminal offense punishable by up to five years in prison. Previously, the UAE adopted a similar measure, stipulating prison sentences of up to 15 years for those who support Qatar.
In Doha, Qatar has rejected the accusations from Gulf states, repeatedly declaring the "blacklist" baseless and asserting that Qatar complies with United Nations Security Council resolutions on counter-terrorism, including eradicating the financing of terrorism.
Sanctions imposed on Qatar by four Arab countries have forced the nation to import food by sea and air to meet the needs of its 2.7 million inhabitants. However, the Emir of Qatar insists that life in Qatar continues as normal despite the unjust "siege."
AmbassadorQatari spokesman Meshal bin Hamad Al-Thani in the US called on Arab nations to end their blockade of the country, asserting that the crisis is counterproductive to the region and the fight against terrorism.
"The State of Qatar has demonstrated a constructive attitude in resolving the issue. We have repeatedly called for a meeting to sit down and discuss the matter. But now, the decision to sit down at the negotiating table rests with the countries boycotting Qatar," Ambassador Al-Thani said.
