US UAVs actively spy on Russia's western border

The US Air Force's RQ-4B strategic unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has conducted reconnaissance of Russia's western border - PlaneRadar reported.

According to PlaneRadar, the aircraft with tail number 10-2043 departed from the Sigonella air base in Italy on Sunday morning, then flew for about 5.5 hours along the border of the Kaliningrad region in the skies over Lithuania.

The UAV then flew over Latvia into Estonian airspace and spent 4.5 hours reconnaissance of the western border in the Pskov and Leningrad regions.

On the way back, the RQ-4B completed a series of flights along the border of the Kaliningrad region for at least 1 hour before returning to base.

Recently, the activity of foreign reconnaissance aircraft and UAVs near the Russian border has increased significantly. There are regular reconnaissance flights around Crimea and the Krasnodar Territory, as well as over the Baltic Sea.

In total, over the past year, Russian radio-technical units detected and escorted more than 980,000 flying devices. About 3,000 of them were foreign combat aircraft, with more than 1,000 reconnaissance aircraft.
