Although Ubisoft has not officially announced it, many leaked sources confirm that the project is already underway. According to Jeux Video Magazine, the new version will not only be a graphical upgrade but also be redesigned in a modern role-playing direction, similar to the recent installments of the series.

In Assassin's Creed IV remake, the character Edward Kenway will have a detailed equipment system with separate stats. The modern storylines that appeared in the original will be removed, replaced by pure adventures of the pirate world.

This change is intended to provide a seamless experience and focus entirely on the ocean air.

Familiar map but lots of new activities

The map in Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag remake remains the same size but adds additional missions and side activities. Transitioning between land and sea will be smoother as Ubisoft removes loading screens.

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Remake Is Reportedly More Than Just Graphics

Additionally, some of the content that was cut from the original 2013 version will be brought back, enriching the gamer's experience.

According to Jeux Video Magazine, the Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag remake will likely be released in March 2026. If the leak is true, this will not be just a simple graphical upgrade but a comprehensive reimagining that could lay the foundation for Ubisoft's next remake projects.
