(Baonghean.vn) - At the conference, the Vinh City People's Committee approved the report on the results of implementing national defense and security tasks in 2020, and also outlined 8 key tasks for 2021.
On the morning of January 12th, the People's Committee of Vinh City held a conference to summarize the work on national defense and security in 2020 and to implement tasks for 2021.
Attending the conference were: Colonel Nguyen Manh Hung - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police; Lieutenant Colonel Dinh Bat Van - Deputy Commander of the Provincial Military Command; Nguyen Van Lu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Council; Tran Ngoc Tu - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vinh City People's Committee, along with representatives from various departments, military forces, and police forces of the city.

2020 was a challenging year. The COVID-19 pandemic unfolded in a complex manner, the climate changed erratically, prolonged heatwaves occurred, and floods caused significant damage. However, the socio-economic situation remained fundamentally stable, with the province's overall growth rate reaching 4.45%, and Vinh City's growth estimated at 4.55%. Under the active leadership and guidance of the City Party Committee, the flexible management of the City People's Committee, along with the efforts of all levels and sectors, and the effective advisory work of the forces, security and order in the city were maintained, social order and safety were ensured, and social welfare continued to receive due attention.

Over the past year, Party committees, government agencies, the Steering Committee for grassroots development, departments, organizations at all levels, the people, and the armed forces have closely followed the policies of the Central Government, the province, and the city, proactively overcoming difficulties and striving to successfully complete the task of building clean, strong, and comprehensive grassroots organizations, ensuring political stability, relatively good economic and social development, strengthened national defense and security, maintained social order and safety, gradually improving people's lives, and maintaining basic stability in the area.
