Ukraine has begun recruiting reserve troops, the press service of the General Staff of the National Armed Forces announced on Facebook.

The initial phase of recruiting reserve troops for combat units will last up to 20 days. Simultaneously, there are also plans for conscription in Kherson and Zaporizhia provinces over a period of approximately 10 days.
"We emphasize that all these events are arranged in such a way that all military personnel can return home before Christmas Eve and be reunited with their families," the General Staff said.
The recruitment of reserve troops was carried out because a state of war was imposed in 10 provinces of Ukraine, including Lugansk and Donetsk.
This state of emergency will last for 30 days, temporarily restricting constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens, including the right to vote, freedom of thought, and freedom of speech. Protection of critical infrastructure has also been strengthened, and the country's military-industrial complex has been switched to a special mode of operation.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Piotr Poroshenko issued a message calling on Ukraine to prepare for war. A state of martial law was imposed in the context of Ukrainian ships violating the border of the Russian Federation.
