Ukraine urges Germany to provide battle tanks

President Zelensky stated: "I want to appeal to Germany: You are independent of other countries, if you are ready to save lives... then provide us with this equipment... If you do not want it, that is your opinion, but do not say that first the United States, then Poland (are the countries that should provide the equipment). No, everyone is responsible. Battle tanks for us mean that Ukraine can save more lives."
According to Mr. Zelensky, Ukraine is very grateful for Germany's military and financial support, but the Eastern European country needs more to "win".
"The UK has supported us a lot, the US has supported us a lot, you don't need to compare yourself with other countries. Germany has provided us with very good equipment, we are grateful for the Mars II multiple launch rocket system, for the financial support... and we don't compare this support with other countries. On the contrary, you need to set an example for other countries by providing tanks. Germany is the strongest economy in Europe, so you can also set a good example," he added.
Earlier this September, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced that Berlin would act together with its allies instead of unilaterally supplying weapons to Ukraine./.
