Ukraine cannot sow discord within the EU's PACE.
Ukraine failed in its attempt to sow discord in PACE through inappropriate “editing,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova wrote on Facebook, commenting on Ukraine’s recall of its ambassador following the Council of Europe’s decision to reinstate the Russian delegation.
"Ukraine will recall its ambassador to the Council of Europe for consultations after a decision is made to reinstate the Russian delegation," Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin announced on Tuesday.

"If the ambassador returns to Kyiv, he won't know who to consult. It's best to go straight to Washington, even though they might give him a lot of disastrous advice there, like something out of a circus," commented Zakharova, spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“The special campaign to block Russia from entering PACE was meticulously prepared: the ‘close circle’ (Baltic countries, Poland, Georgia) wholeheartedly supported Ukraine with terrible rhetoric during the General Assembly session; the provocation in Tbilisi was widely disseminated in Western media and social networks to create the effect of a ‘next Moscow invasion;’ and private conversations were held with parliamentarians… Because the target was not only Russia, but also discord within the European ranks. But the opposite happened: the Ukrainian representative, with all his inappropriate attempts at ‘rectification,’ turned out to be utterly foolish,” Zakharova concluded.
