Ukraine receives $1 billion from frozen Russian assets, Moscow vows to respond to “theft”

The first $1 billion instalment of a $20 billion US loan secured by seized Russian assets has been paid to Kiev, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmygal announced on December 24. Meanwhile, Moscow has vowed to respond to the “theft”.
