At the World Defence Exhibition 2026, SkyFall announced it would increase production to 8,300 UAVs per month, while simultaneously reducing the cost per unit to $8,500.

Ukrainian company SkyFall has just announced an impressive production milestone, reaching an annual output of 100,000 Vampire bomber UAVs. This information was revealed by a company representative at the World Defence Exhibition (WDS) 2026, held in Saudi Arabia from February 8 to 12.

Production growth and localization strategy

Based on the latest figures, manufacturer SkyFall is currently shipping an average of over 8,300 Vampire UAVs per month. This represents a significant increase from the previous production rate of 50,000 units per year (equivalent to approximately 4,150 units per month). Besides scaling up, the company emphasizes that current versions have been significantly upgraded in performance compared to earlier models.

Notably, SkyFall plans to shift its entire component manufacturing process to within Ukraine by the end of this year. Securing a self-sufficient supply of components is seen as a strategic move to ensure stability and reduce dependence on external suppliers amidst the conflict.

Cost optimization and economic efficiency

One of SkyFall's key achievements is the significant reduction in product cost. Initially, each Vampire cost up to $20,000 depending on the configuration. Now, that price has dropped to around $8,500 each, more than half of the original price.

Although further cost reductions will be more challenging due to technical improvement requirements, the current price has allowed the Ukrainian military to deploy this weapon in larger quantities on the battlefield.

Technical specifications and role on the battlefield

The Vampire is currently considered the most popular and effective bomber UAV in service with the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Key technical specifications of this UAV include:

  • Load capacity:It is capable of carrying up to 15kg of weapons.
  • Contact range:Maintain a stable connection within a 45km radius.
  • Speed:It reaches a maximum speed of 80 km/h.

With its large payload capacity and long range, the Vampire plays a crucial role in attacking fixed targets and vehicles, becoming a powerful tool in Ukraine's drone warfare tactics.
