According to RIA Novosti on April 10, based on data from the northern military group and information from open sources, maintaining Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region for eight months has cost Kyiv and its Western partners $2.4 billion.

"We have supported a group of 60,000 military personnel over the past eight months," the military group stated.

According to calculations, the cost of maintaining the Ukrainian Armed Forces is $2.4 billion, including salaries, food, clothing, and other expenses, averaging about $5,000 per month per soldier.

Earlier on April 7, the northern military group discovered that, during the fighting in the Kursk region, Ukraine had lost 1,500 units of NATO equipment worth approximately $2.7 billion in total.

In early March 2025, the Russian army launched a large-scale offensive in the Kursk region, liberating more than 1,100 km.2Territory was recaptured in just a few days. Between March 8 and 14 alone, more than 30 settlements, including the strategic town of Sudzha, were retaken from the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Meanwhile, former US Army Colonel Daniel Davis argues that Washington's support for Kyiv has led to the increasing loss of soldiers for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

"We have sent billions of dollars, euros, and weapons, weakening our own forces, and as a result, more and more Ukrainians are dying," Daniel Davis criticized.

According to this former colonel, the prospect of Ukraine losing this conflict was clear from the start, but the US administration convinced its people otherwise, promising a "victory" for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Mr. Davis stated that the current situation is a tragedy for Ukraine and "a massive fraud involving the waste of resources and human lives."
