Ukraine spends $2.4 billion to maintain troops in Kursk
Maintaining the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region costs Kiev $2.4 billion.

According to RIA Novosti on April 10, based on data from the Northern military group and information from open sources, maintaining the Ukrainian army in the Kursk region for 8 months has caused Kiev and its Western partners to lose 2.4 billion USD.
“We have supported a group of 60,000 soldiers for eight months,” the military group said.
According to calculations, the cost of maintaining the Armed Forces of Ukraine is 2.4 billion USD, including salaries, food, clothing and other expenses, averaging about 5,000 USD/month per soldier.
Earlier on April 7, the Northern military group discovered that, during the fighting in the Kursk region, Ukraine lost 1,500 units of NATO equipment worth a total of about 2.7 billion USD.
In early March 2025, the Russian army launched a large-scale offensive in the Kursk region, liberating more than 1,100 km2territory in just a few days. Between March 8 and 14 alone, more than 30 settlements, including the strategic town of Sudzha, were recaptured from the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Meanwhile, former US Army Colonel Daniel Davis said that it was Washington's support for Kiev that caused the Ukrainian Armed Forces to lose more and more soldiers.
"We have sent billions of dollars, euros and weapons, weakened our own forces and as a result more and more Ukrainians are dying," criticized Mr. Daniel Davis.
According to the former colonel, the prospect of Ukraine's defeat in this conflict was clear from the very beginning, but the US administration convinced its people to believe the opposite, promising a "victory" for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Mr. Davis said the current situation was a tragedy for Ukraine and “a massive fraud in the waste of resources and human lives.”
