According to an analysis by Forbes magazine commentator David Axe, cited by Ria Novosti, Ukraine has deployed the 82nd Air Assault Brigade to the front lines. This is the last unit of Ukraine's strategic reserve forces.

"The Ukrainian airborne forces have finally deployed their strongest unit: the 82nd Brigade, comprising 2,000 men, equipped with Marder and Stryker combat vehicles, and Challenger-2 tanks, to participate in the battle in the Rabotino area of the Zaporozhye region, in southern Ukraine," commentator David Axe stated in Forbes magazine.

The 82nd and 46th brigades are the last major armed units that the Ukrainian General Staff has retained in its strategic reserves. Observer David Axe suggests that deploying these brigades could result in significant losses for Kyiv. This move is both good and bad news for Ukraine's counteroffensive.

“No brigade can fight forever. When the 46th and 82nd brigades withdraw for rest and repairs, there may be no new brigades with comparable strength to replace them. If the Russian army can hold its position in Rabotino and maintain sufficient strength after this Ukrainian troop surge, the Russian army could eventually launch a counterattack against Ukraine,” observer David Axe commented.

Earlier, on August 15, the latest report from the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that, in the Zaporizhye direction, Russian forces, supported by army air and artillery, repelled three attacks by the 82nd Airborne Brigade of the Ukrainian Strategic Reserve near Rabotino.

Ukraine suffered losses totaling 200 servicemen, 5 tanks, 6 infantry fighting vehicles, 2 armored fighting vehicles, 2 motorized vehicles, and 2 Msta-B artillery pieces.

Meanwhile, in May 2023, the attack in Pavlograd destroyed fuel and ammunition stockpiles belonging to Ukraine's 46th Airborne Brigade.

On the night of August 14th, Russia launched a concentrated attack using long-range precision weapons from the air and sea against key enterprises in Ukraine's military industry. All designated targets were neutralized, and Ukraine's defense industry suffered significant losses.
