Ukraine requests urgent assistance from 5 European countries
Ukraine asks 5 countries for help with emergency power supply, after Russian attack.

According to RIA Novosti, after a major attack by the Russian army on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, the country has requested to import electricity from five neighboring countries.
Ukrenergo reported on its Telegram channel that the imports will be made within 24 hours from Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary and Moldova. According to Ukrenergo, the total capacity will be 13,447 MW/hour with individual peak hourly capacities reaching 1,098 MW.
All areas and households are required to apply hourly power outage schedules and power restrictions for industrial and business establishments.
On December 13, the Russian Armed Forces attacked Ukraine’s vital fuel and energy complex, which ensures the functioning of the military-industrial complex. The massive attack was a response to Ukraine’s use of 6 ATACMS missiles against a military airfield in Taganrog on December 11.
The Russian Defense Ministry said all intended targets were hit. The attack used long-range, high-precision weapons from the air and sea, as well as attack drones.
“The enemy continues to spread terror. The energy infrastructure across Ukraine is being attacked once again,” said Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko.
President Volodymyr Zelensky said it was one of the biggest attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure in three years. He said Russia launched at least 93 missiles and 200 drones.
