On March 14, in Vinh city, the Department of Industry and Trade coordinated with the Provincial Consumer Rights Protection Association to organize a launching ceremony in response to Vietnam Consumer Rights Day 2025 (March 15, 2025).
Nghe An is a convenient trading point and a large market in production, business, as well as commercial and consumer activities.
According to estimates, Nghe An's total retail sales of goods in 2024 will reach VND118,786 billion, up 26.22% compared to 2023. This is an impressive figure, reflecting the province's strong purchasing power and economic potential. However, along with that development, protecting consumer rights has become more urgent than ever.

Over the years, the Provincial People's Committee has issued action plans and programs to protect consumer rights; propaganda work has been deployed in a variety of forms. The Department of Industry and Trade has presided over and coordinated with agencies, units and localities in the province to strengthen inspection and examination of services provided by enterprises, production and business establishments in accordance with the law, and mobilized enterprises to implement many promotional programs to show gratitude to customers...
In 2025, with the theme "Transparent Information - Responsible Consumption" aiming to build a safe and fair consumption environment, where businesses and consumers share responsibility for sustainable development.

One of the key contents is to propagate and popularize the new Law on Consumer Protection in many vivid and easy-to-understand forms, especially in rural and mountainous areas, so that people clearly understand their rights and obligations;
Close coordination between functional sectors and localities to inspect and monitor the market, strictly handle acts of commercial fraud and trading in counterfeit and fake goods.

Call on the consumer community to proactively equip themselves with knowledge, become "smart consumers" and take advantage of AI technology such as Grok 3, GPT chat... to build chatbots to support consumers, provide legal advice, look up product information or guide complaint handling, contributing to building a transparent and healthy market.
At the launching ceremony, representatives of agencies and units in the province performed the launching ceremony in response to Consumer Rights Day 2025.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee of the Contest "Joining hands to protect consumer rights in 2025" awarded prizes to the winning units including: Cua Lo 2 High School (First prize); Nghe An Province Boarding Ethnic High School (Second prize) and FPT Polyschool (Third prize).
