Using technology to become a smart consumer.
Consumers in Nghe An are proactively applying AI technology to build chatbots that provide legal advice, product information lookup, or guidance on handling complaints, contributing to building a transparent and healthy market.

On March 14th, in Vinh City, the Department of Industry and Trade, in coordination with the Provincial Consumer Rights Protection Association, organized a ceremony to launch the campaign in response to Vietnam Consumer Rights Day 2025 (March 15th, 2025).
Nghe An is a favorable trading hub and a large market for production, business, and consumer activities.
According to estimates, Nghe An's total retail sales in 2024 reached VND 118,786 billion, an increase of 26.22% compared to 2023. This is an impressive figure, reflecting the province's strong purchasing power and economic potential. However, along with this development, protecting consumer rights has become more urgent than ever.

Over the years, the Provincial People's Committee has issued plans and action programs to protect consumer rights; propaganda work has been implemented in diverse forms. The Department of Industry and Trade, in collaboration with other agencies, units, and localities in the province, has strengthened inspections and checks of services provided by businesses and production and trading establishments in accordance with the law, and encouraged businesses to implement various promotional programs to show appreciation to customers…
In 2025, with the theme "Transparent Information - Responsible Consumption," the goal is to build a safe and fair consumer environment where businesses and consumers share responsibility for sustainable development.

One of the key focuses is the dissemination and popularization of the new Law on Consumer Rights Protection through various lively and easy-to-understand forms, especially in rural and mountainous areas, so that people understand their rights and obligations;
Close coordination between relevant agencies and localities is essential to inspect and monitor the market, and strictly handle acts of commercial fraud and the trading of counterfeit and fake goods.

We call on the consumer community to proactively equip themselves with knowledge and become "smart consumers," leveraging AI technologies such as Grok 3 and GPT chat to build chatbots that support consumers, provide legal advice, search for product information, or guide them in handling complaints, thereby contributing to building a transparent and healthy market.
At the launching ceremony, representatives from agencies and units in the province performed the ritual of launching the campaign in response to Consumer Rights Day 2025.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee of the "Joining Hands to Protect Consumer Rights in 2025" competition awarded prizes to the winning units, including: Cua Lo 2 High School (First Prize); Nghe An Provincial Ethnic Boarding High School (Second Prize) and FPT Polyschool (Third Prize).
