He drank herbicide and then murdered his ex-wife.

On December 24th, the Criminal Investigation Agency of Thuan An town police (Binh Duong province) announced that suspect Tran Van Khanh (25 years old, residing in Can Tho) had died after drinking herbicide before murdering his ex-wife.

According to initial investigations: Khanh and Ms. Truong Thi Thu T. (27 years old, residing in Kien Giang) divorced about a month ago.

At around 1 PM on December 22nd, on Nguyen Trai Street, Lai Thieu Ward, Thuan An Town (Binh Duong), Ms. T. was working as a waitress at a coffee shop when Khanh approached her to talk.

Here, the two had a disagreement that escalated into an argument. In a fit of anger, Khanh used two knives he had concealed on his person to stab his ex-wife multiple times, causing her to collapse unconscious.

After committing the crime, Khanh threw away the knife and fled. Residents and law enforcement officers from Lai Thieu ward chased and apprehended Khanh. Ms. T. was taken to the hospital by residents in critical condition.

At the police station, Khanh confessed to all his crimes. Seeing that the suspect appeared tired, the police called a doctor to examine him, who discovered that Khanh had ingested herbicide. Further questioning revealed that Khanh admitted to drinking herbicide before murdering his ex-wife.

Shortly afterward, the police took Khanh to the hospital for treatment. Khanh passed away on the morning of December 24th.
