The Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front visited and congratulated temples on the occasion of the Buddha's Birthday celebration.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of May 11th, Mr. Vo Van Tien, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, led a delegation from the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee to visit and congratulate temples in Hoang Mai town, Quynh Luu district, and Yen Thanh district on the occasion of the Buddha's Birthday, Buddhist calendar 2560 – Gregorian calendar 2016.

At each place visited, the delegation respectfully presented flower baskets and inquired about the health of the Venerable abbots of the temples as well as the monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers. The delegation highly appreciated the contributions of the Provincial Buddhist Association and the Buddhist associations in the districts in mobilizing monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers to effectively implement the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and regulations.

Mr. Vo Van Tien, along with the delegation from the Provincial and Quynh Luu District Fatherland Front, offered congratulations at An Thai Pagoda.

The delegation hopes that in the coming time, the Venerable abbots of the temples, together with the local authorities, will continue to encourage monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers to cooperate with relevant departments and agencies to effectively carry out state management of religion, integrate Buddhist activities into socio-economic development emulation movements in the area, and contribute to consolidating national unity; strengthen activities to improve the understanding and awareness of law compliance among religious followers; and effectively carry out propaganda and mobilization work to raise awareness and sense of responsibility among followers, exercising their civic rights in the election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly and deputies to People's Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 term.

Buddhist dignitaries at the temples visited and congratulated by the delegation expressed their gratitude for the attention of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee over the past period, and pledged to continue upholding the tradition of living a good life and practicing virtuous conduct. They also hoped to continue receiving even more attention so that Buddhism in Nghe An can continue to walk hand in hand with the nation.
