The Standing Committee of the National Assembly approved Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Council of Nghe An province.
On behalf of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man has just signed a Resolution approving the election results of the Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 term.
In Resolution No. 1302/NQ-UBTVQH15, dated November 26, 2024, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly resolved to approve the election results of the Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 term for Comrade [Name missing].Hoang Nghia Hieu- Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, effective November 18, 2024.
The Standing Committee of the National Assembly assigns the Head of the Delegation Affairs Committee, the Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial People's Council, and Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu the responsibility to implement this resolution.
Earlier, on the afternoon of November 18th, at the 24th session, 100% of the delegates of the 18th Provincial People's Council present elected Comrade [Name].Hoang Nghia Hieu- The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee was elected Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People's Council, 18th term, 2021-2026, through a secret ballot.
The Nghe An Provincial People's Council voted to approve the Resolution confirming the election results with 100% of the attending delegates voting in favor.
According to the Law on Organization of Local Government, the results of the election of the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People's Council must be approved by the Standing Committee of the National Assembly.
Hoang Nghia Hieu, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, was elected Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People's Council, replacing his predecessor, Thai Thanh Quy, who was transferred and assigned by the Politburo to the position of Deputy Head of the Central Economic Committee according to Decision No. 1620-QĐNS/TW dated October 25, 2024.
The Chairman of the People's Council is responsible for leading the activities of the Standing Committee of the People's Council at the same level, and on behalf of the Standing Committee of the People's Council, maintains contact with the People's Committee, state agencies, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, member organizations of the Front at the same level, other social organizations, and citizens.
The Standing Committee of the People's Council is the permanent body of the People's Council, performing duties and powers as prescribed by the Law on Organization of Local Government and other relevant legal provisions; it is responsible for and reports on its work to the People's Council.
The Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council consists of the Chairman of the People's Council, the Vice-Chairman of the People's Council, and the members who are the heads of the committees of the Provincial People's Council. With this restructuring, the current Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial People's Council includes: Mr. Hoang Nghia Hieu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Nguyen Nam Dinh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Nguyen Nhu Khoi - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; and four Standing Committee members: Mr. Cao Tien Trung - Head of the Economic and Budget Committee of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Pham Thanh Chung - Head of the Legal Committee of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Chu Duc Thai - Head of the Culture and Social Affairs Committee of the Provincial People's Council; and Ms. Lo Thi Kim Ngan - Head of the Ethnic Affairs Committee of the Provincial People's Council.
