With the responsibility of protecting sovereignty and maintaining security and order, the Vietnam Coast Guard is equipped with a modern fleet of vessels, mostly built domestically.

Currently, the Vietnam Coast Guard possesses many of the most modern vessels in the region, all domestically built: K206 vessels, DN 2000 vessels, TT-200 vessels, 3500 HP rescue tugs, 120 and 400 HP high-speed patrol boats, etc.

Among them, the DN 2000 vessel is a type of ship with an advanced, modern design that fully meets international standards. Its functions and duties include: patrolling and protecting maritime sovereignty and islands, and enforcing laws in Vietnam's maritime areas and continental shelf;

Conduct search and rescue operations in Vietnamese and international waters when requested; tow distressed vessels with a displacement of up to 2200 tons; transport troops and provide logistical support to forces operating at sea and on islands; and perform other assigned tasks.

The ship operates in the seas and continental shelf of Vietnam with an unlimited range. It can operate in wind conditions up to Beaufort scale 12, with a continuous operating time at sea of 40 days and nights, and a range of 5000 nautical miles.

The TT-200 high-speed patrol boat is a steel-hulled high-speed vessel designed by the Naval Engineering Institute. The vessel operates in sea conditions up to level 7 and 8, can withstand level 9, and has a range of 1800 nautical miles.

The 3500 HP rescue tugboat is equipped with a rescue pump system installed in the main engine compartment. Through a separate sea inlet, the system supplies fire-fighting water and fire-retardant foam to two spray guns mounted on the cabin roof. At a 45-degree angle and with a flow rate of 350 m³/h, the spray guns can reach a maximum range of 75 m.

The TT 120 high-speed patrol boat is tasked with patrolling and protecting Vietnam's sovereignty and maritime security, controlling and preventing vessels from violating State regulations on customs, fishing, resource exploitation, and environmental protection within Vietnamese waters.

The TT 400 high-speed patrol boat is a steel-hulled vessel, a type of ship with high technical capabilities and modern equipment. It features automation, integrated onboard equipment, and can withstand waves up to level 10. In addition to these vessels, the Coast Guard also has the CSB 7011 – the largest ship with a full-load displacement of up to 4,300 tons.

In addition to the aforementioned vessels, the Vietnam Coast Guard also possesses Casa 212 aircraft equipped with the MS 6000 surveillance system for reconnaissance, detection, and information processing to support command and control operations in Vietnamese waters under all weather conditions.
