(Baonghean.vn) - Currently, the V.League 2021 national championship is temporarily suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The tournament organizers have begun taking concrete steps and developing plans in an effort to get the V.League back on the pitch. The most pressing issue is whether or not spectators will be allowed into the stadiums.

On February 19th, the Vietnam Football Federation and VPF held a meeting to rearrange the schedule for national professional football leagues as well as other tournaments. Accordingly,V.League 2021They are expected to return from mid-March.

Based on the fact that the Covid-19 pandemic has been somewhat controlled in many localities, and to prioritize scheduling matches so that the national team has sufficient time to prepare for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers and the three Vietnamese teams participating in the Asian Club Championship, VPF anticipates that the rescheduled matches of Round 3 of this year's V.League will be played on March 13th and 14th.

Then round 4V.League 2021Matches will be played on March 19th and 20th, Round 5 on March 23rd and 24th, Round 6 on March 27th and 28th, Round 7 on April 2nd and 3rd, and Round 8 on April 6th and 7th. This shortens the break between rounds to only 3-4 days per match instead of one week per match as before.

Similarly, the 2021 First Division football league, scheduled to start on March 21st, will also have a very tight schedule of matches coming up.VPFThe decision will depend on the actual situation to determine which stadiums will allow regular spectators, which will have limited attendance, and which will hold matches without spectators.

Given the complex developments of the Covid-19 pandemic and the need for effective disease prevention, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has issued guidelines on organizing national professional football leagues during the pandemic.

Specifically, matches are continuously disinfected, sanitized, and temperature checks are mandatory for all staff; VIP guests are not allowed to shake hands; children are not allowed to escort the two teams onto the field; post-match press conferences must be spaced out; handshakes are prohibited before and after the match; shirt exchanges are forbidden; celebratory interactions after goals are avoided; and photos of the two teams must be taken separately…

The Vietnam Football Federation has also outlined three options for playing matches: with spectators, with limited spectators, and without spectators, to be applied to each stadium in the coming period. If matches are played with limited attendance, the number of spectators will be below 50% of the total number of tickets that can be sold for the entire stadium, but the recommended attendance rate for these matches is below 30% of the total number of tickets that can be sold (including tickets for the away team).
