V.League: Veterans unexpectedly 'reappear' on the pitch
(Baonghean.vn) - In recent seasons, V.League has witnessed many players returning to compete after a period of leaving the professional field.
1. Doan Viet Cuong

In the second leg of V.League 2017, Ho Chi Minh City Club caused a big surprise to experts and football fans in the country when registering former player Doan Viet Cuong to the competition list. The reason why the player from Dong Thap "reappeared" on the field after 2 years of doing other jobs was at the suggestion of his former teammate in the Vietnam National Team - Le Cong Vinh. At that time, Le Cong Vinh was holding the position of acting President of Ho Chi Minh City Club.
2. Phung Van Nhien

Similar to Doan Viet Cuong, Phung Van Nhien also returned to professional competition after a period of "hanging up his boots" (more than 2 years). The team that welcomed the "reappearance" of the player born in 1982 is Nam Dinh. Before achieving many successes in the colors of HAGL (2009 - 2014) and Hai Phong (2015 - 2017), Phung Van Nhien was a product of the Nam Dinh training center and played for the team from 2002 - 2008.
3. Nguyen Anh Duc

At the end of the 2019 season, Nguyen Anh Duc said goodbye to B.Binh Duong. It was thought that the striker nicknamed Duc "Eto'o" would retire from playing to focus on business (sportswear and artificial football fields). However, in the mid-season transfer window of 2020, Nguyen Anh Duc unexpectedly joined HAGL. And currently, the striker born in 1985 is on the payroll of Long An, a team playing in the First Division.
4. Au Van Hoan

A few days ago, right-back Au Van Hoan decided to "reappear" on the pitch to wear the Hai Phong shirt for the remainder of the 2021 season. It is known that the new Chairman Van Tran Hoan and head coach Pham Anh Tuan personally persuaded the player born in 1989 to join the Hai Phong team with a contract until the end of this season. Thus, Hai Phong is the 5th team that Au Van Hoan has played for, afterSLNA, B.Binh Duong, Ho Chi Minh City Club and SHB Da Nang.
Surely in the near future, there will be more players returning to play after saying goodbye to the field, like Doan Viet Cuong, Phung Van Nhien, Nguyen Anh Duc and Au Van Hoan. It is true that in football, anything can happen./.
