Exposing the tricks of human traffickers in Nghe An.
(Baonghean.vn) - To evade authorities, human traffickers employ extremely sophisticated tricks; many victims, after being rescued, return to entice and lure others.
The districts of Que Phong and Tuong Duong have the most complex human trafficking situation in Nghe An province. According to Ms. Truong Thi Tuyet Mai, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Que Phong district, despite many efforts by law enforcement agencies, human trafficking crimes continue to evolve in a complex manner, with criminals potentially employing new methods and tactics.

"To gain the trust of the victims and their families, the perpetrators use letters and photos to introduce people who have become wealthy and prosperous. On the other hand, they generously advance money for transportation or salaries to the victims… Faced with these tactics, the victims are dazzled by the prospect of a bright future and fall into the trap," Ms. Mai said.
To date, Tuong Duong district has over 2,300 illegal overseas workers, including more than 1,200 women. The district is currently investigating how many of those 1,200 women are victims of human trafficking.
Mr. Lo Thanh Nhat, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tuong Duong District, said: "In the district, two communes, Nga My and Tam Quang, are hotspots for human trafficking. The underlying reasons leading to the high number of women going abroad are basically due to lack of jobs and low social awareness, which leads them to be lured and enticed by human traffickers."
Although human trafficking causes many complex consequences, combating this type of crime remains very difficult. Authorities say that in most cases, families only report the crime to the authorities a considerable time after the perpetrators have taken the victims out of the area, resulting in delayed investigations.
Furthermore, due to their naivety, lack of legal knowledge, hedonistic mindset, and laziness, some women have inadvertently aided human trafficking. Some victims, after being sold, return to their hometowns but do not report the trafficking, while others become perpetrators themselves, luring others to be trafficked abroad.
To evade law enforcement, human traffickers often form relatively tightly organized networks. They usually have a division of roles and responsibilities for each stage of the crime, leading to victims being unable to detect or know the perpetrators' addresses to report the crime. The perpetrators are often scattered across many locations, even abroad, making it very difficult to apprehend and prosecute them once they are discovered.

To prevent this situation, the first step is to create jobs for women in remote areas, prioritizing industrial zones to provide them with stable employment. Alongside this, it is necessary to organize various activities to educate and raise awareness among women and children in key areas where human trafficking occurs.
In addition, support is needed for victims of human trafficking to help them reintegrate into the community; maintaining and expanding effective models such as clubs for preventing human trafficking, preventing domestic violence, and women's rights. Only by effectively implementing these solutions can we hope to prevent this problem, ensure peace for the people's lives, and maintain border security.
