Mobilizing nearly 800 million VND to support families of victims of Agent Orange/dioxin

Attending the congress were comrades: Nguyen Thi Anh Tuyet - Head of the City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairwoman of the Vinh City Fatherland Front Committee; Tran Thi Cam Tu - Vice Chairwoman of Vinh City People's Committee.

During the past term, the Vinh City Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims has actively innovated its contents and methods of operation, attracting members to participate in its activities. To date, the Association has 1,199 members.

During the 2018-2023 term, the Association also advised Party committees and authorities, coordinated with the Fatherland Front Committees at all levels to propagate and mobilize agencies, businesses, and philanthropists to support nearly 800 million VND.

From that amount of money, the Association has supported and helped 25 families build new houses and repair houses, supported many member households to develop production and business, supported medical treatment, and awarded scholarships to children and grandchildren of victims with especially difficult circumstances to strive to study well.

Along with that, the Association always focuses on propaganda work, participates in supporting lawsuits fighting for justice, and performs the function of protecting the legitimate rights and interests of victims.

The congress elected 27 comrades to the new Executive Committee. Also at the congress, the Provincial Association for the Protection of Children's Rights and the Support of the Disabled presented 10 gifts, each worth 500,000 VND in cash and gifts worth 250,000 VND; Hong Loan Garment Company presented 20 gifts, each worth 300,000 VND.
