The first athlete from Nghe An to win a medal at the 33rd SEA Games.

On the afternoon of December 12th, athlete Nguyen Tat Loc became the first athlete from Nghe An to win a medal at the 33rd SEA Games, when he won a Bronze Medal in the men's Ne-waza Jujitsu event, under 77kg weight category.

On December 12th, Nguyen Tat Loc competed in the men's Ne-waza event. Throughout the tense rounds, the martial artist from Nghe An province displayed great effort and skill. Although he couldn't reach the final, Tat Loc quickly regained his composure to compete for the Bronze Medal.

In the decisive match, he defeated his teammate Nguyen Cat Tung, thereby winning the bronze medal for the Vietnamese sports delegation as well as for Nghe An sports.

Nguyen Tat Loc's medal holds special significance as he is the first athlete from Nghe An to win a medal at the 33rd SEA Games.

Previously, the Nghe An sports delegation had a total of 6 athletes summoned to participate in the Games, including goalkeeper Cao Van Binh of the Vietnam U22 football team, two track and field athletes, two sepak takraw athletes, and Nguyen Tat Loc in Jujitsu.

At the 33rd SEA Games, Nguyen Tat Loc registered to compete in two events: men's Ne-waza and men's team Jujitsu. His bronze medal in the Ne-waza event was not only a reward for his individual efforts but also opened up hope for Tat Loc to continue contributing to the Vietnamese sports delegation's achievements in subsequent events.

At the end of the competition day on December 12th, the Vietnamese sports delegation had won a total of 25 gold medals, temporarily ranking second in the overall medal standings. Host nation Thailand continued to hold the top spot with 63 gold medals, while Indonesia ranked third with 18 gold medals.

Nguyen Tat Loc's bronze medal is expected to further motivate the athletes from Nghe An province to continue competing confidently, striving, and giving their all in the upcoming days of the Games.
