Operating and regulating the Chau Thang hydroelectric reservoir.
At 6:20 PM this afternoon, July 19th, the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Nghe An province issued an urgent notice regarding the operation and regulation of the Chau Thang hydroelectric reservoir.
Notice No. 103 states: At 6:20 PM this afternoon, July 19th, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense received Notice No. 02/TB-PQP dated July 19, 2024, from PRIME Que Phong Joint Stock Company regarding the operation and water regulation of Chau Thang hydroelectric reservoir.

To ensure the safe operation of water discharge from the Chau Thang hydropower reservoir in accordance with the approved single-reservoir and multi-reservoir operating procedures on the Ca River basin, PRIME Que Phong Joint Stock Company announces the following planned water regulation operation schedule for the Chau Thang hydropower reservoir:
Expected discharge time:00:00 on July 20, 2024.
Discharge rate:Total discharge volume from 76m3/s 300m3/s (including discharge flow through the sluice gates and power generation flow through the turbines) and may vary depending on the level of water inflow into the reservoir.
Discharge completion time:Until the effects of the heavy rain subside.
The Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense hereby informs: the People's Committees of Que Phong and Quy Chau districts; the heads of provincial departments and agencies; and the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention at Ban Mong Reservoir.
We request that all levels of government, agencies, units, investors currently constructing along and on the river, owners of water transport vessels, and all residents in the downstream area of the Chau Thang Hydropower Plant be informed to implement necessary measures to ensure the safety of lives and property of the State and the people.
