The Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue, and Civil Defense has just issued a notice regarding the operation and regulation of the Song Quang and Chi Khe hydroelectric reservoirs tonight.

At 6:20 PM, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense received notification No. 2107/2024/TB-SQ dated July 21, 2024, from Song Quang Hydropower Joint Stock Company regarding the operation of the Song Quang hydropower reservoir discharge facility.

To ensure the safe operation and regulation of the Song Quang hydropower reservoir in accordance with the procedures approved by the Provincial People's Committee and in line with the hydrological conditions at the site, Song Quang Hydropower Joint Stock Company plans to operate and regulate the Song Quang hydropower reservoir as follows:

Expected operating time for regulation:Starting at 9:30 PM on July 21, 2024.

Expected discharge flow rate:From 30 m3/s up to 150 m3/s (including discharge flow through the sluice gates, flow through the spillway, and power generation flow through the generating units).

Discharge completion time:Until the floods subside.

The Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue, and Civil Defense hereby informs: the People's Committee of Que Phong District; the heads of provincial departments and agencies to notify local authorities, agencies, units, investors currently constructing along and on the river, owners of water transport vessels, and all people in the downstream area of ​​the Song Quang hydropower plant to implement necessary measures to ensure the safety of lives and property of the State and the people.

Also this evening, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense received notification No. 07/2024/TB-CT dated July 21, 2024, from the Chi Khe Hydropower Plant regarding the operation and regulation of the Chi Khe Hydropower Plant reservoir.

To ensure the safe operation of the Chi Khe hydropower plant reservoir in accordance with the approved single-reservoir and multi-reservoir operating procedures on the Ca River basin, the Chi Khe hydropower plant plans to operate and regulate the Chi Khe hydropower reservoir as follows:

Expected time for water release through the spillway:At 23:00 on July 21, 2024.

Discharge rate:The total discharge volume is approximately 506 m³.3/s up to 900 m3/s (including discharge flow through the spillway and power generation flow through the turbines) and may vary depending on the inflow of water into the reservoir.

Time of completion of water discharge through the spillway:Until the water flow into Chi Khe reservoir is equivalent to the water flow generated by the turbines.

The Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue, and Civil Defense hereby informs the People's Committees of the districts of Con Cuong, Anh Son, Do Luong, Thanh Chuong, Nam Dan, Hung Nguyen, and Vinh City; the heads of provincial departments, boards, and agencies; and the Road Management Area II to notify all levels of government, agencies, units, investors currently constructing along and on the river, owners of water transport vehicles, and all people in the downstream area of ​​the Chi Khe Hydropower Plant to implement necessary measures to ensure the safety of lives and property of the State and the people.
